Dee Jensen
Parade Grand Marshal
Dee Jensen is the 2010 NDSCS Homecoming Parade Grand Marshall. Dee first started as a teacher and coach at NDSCS in 1974. Dee and her late husband O.J. served as men’s & women’s track coaches from 1974 to 2002. Dee has been a “tireless” supporter of NDSCS throughout the years and has spread “Wildcat news” across the World in her travels as a USA Track and Field officer and field official.
In 1998 she was inducted into the National Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame and is also a 2003 NDSCS Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee. Dee has been a longtime Kiwanis member and continues to serve as a National USA Track and Field Board Member.
Dee counts 10 NJCAA Region XIII championships, 41 All Americans, 8 national Champions and 95 All-Region XIII athletes as many of the highlights of her coaching career. Dee was also National Coach of the Year in 1986 and won Region XIII Coach of the Year 9 times during her career. In 2003 Dee and other’s established the O.J. Academic and Athletic Scholarship endowment that funds an annual scholarship to a deserving student athlete.
