The NDSCS Alumni  / Foundation is happy to award the “Family Tradition Award to the Larry and Jeanette Miller family.  Their dedication to the college has been proven by the attendance of their many family members and their support in time, talent and treasures.   Larry and Jeanette Miller have lived and farmed south of Wahpeton for over 40 years.  They have three grown children and two grandsons.  Larry graduated from Wahpeton High School and Jeanette graduated from North Central High School, Colfax ND.  Larry and Jeanette both graduated from NDSCS, Larry in 1961 in General Mechanics and Jeanette in 1966 in Stenography.  NDSCS has been an important part of their family and extended family.  Larry’s grandmother attended the former Red River Valley University that was housed in Old Main before NDSSS opened in 1903.  All of their children, son-in-law and daughter-in-law have attended NDSCS.  Their son, Chad attended in 1992 in Liberal Arts, daughter Christi in 1994/Liberal Arts, son Cody, graduated in 2002/Ag Econ, son-in-law Ryan Thielke 1996/Liberal Arts and daughter-in-law Heather Hoffert Miller 2009/Dental Hygiene.  They have a sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, brother and many nieces and nephews who have also attended NDSCS.  Sister-in-law Madeline Miller was chosen NDSCS Grand Marshall in 2007 and nephew Perry Miller serves on the alumni/foundation board.  Jeanette has served on the Alumni/Foundation Board, DREAMS Auction Steering Committee and NDSCS Ottertail Reunion committee. “We are very proud of the NDSCS tradition in our family”, stated Jeanette.
