Fitting, the couple who together lead the Alumni/Foundation for 14 years will lead the Homecoming Parade as the 2009 Parade Grand Marshals.  Woody a 1964 alumnus served as the Alumni/Foundation Director from 1994 until his retirement in 2008. Connie, also a 1970 alumnus, served as the cheerleader, supporter of the NDSCS Alumni/Foundation and NDSCS DREAMS Auction Chair.

Woody and Connie have been strong supporters at NDSCS spending hours attending NDSCS events, as members of the NDSSS 300 Club, Catbackers, Blikre Society, Presidential Search Committee, leading the successful DREAMS Auction Fundraiser and many other campus activities.  As community leaders they served on many boards and service groups, such as Wahpeton City Council, United Way Board, Rotary President, Kiwanis Board, Booster Club President, Red River Human Services, St. Johns Church, 3 Rivers Crisis Center Board, Meals on Wheels Santa, Downtown Development Corporation and many, many more.

The Alumni/Foundation board is pleased to honor this couple who has lead, in so many capacities, on the NDSCS campus as well as the local community.   NDSCS Donor Development Manager, Kim Nelson said, “it’s a great pleasure to see this very admirable couple being honored for all the timeless effort they have given to NDSCS over the years.”

Woody and Connie have three adult children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their daughter Corlyn and her husband Rod, Klamath Falls, OR, and their daughter Megan & Shad have one son Conner and daughter Laura and Matt have two sons, Bradley and Chase.    Their son Jim and his wife Cory, Hudson WI, have two children Sophie & Jasper.  Their son David and his wife Staci, Avondale PA, have two children, Sam and Kennedy.
